When solar shading strengthens architecture: The renovated Konvikt in Chur
With the comprehensive renovation of the Konvikt of the Grisons Cantonal School, an architectural solitaire of Chur's post-war modernism was brought into the present. The building is considered one of the few significant contemporary witnesses of the sculptural direction of this era; its plastic exposed concrete figure, the reaction to the difficult topography, and the conception of light and proportion influenced by Le Corbusier account for its special significance. The Griesser external venetian blinds Aluflex® fit perfectly into this architectural logic: they enable precise control of daylight, support the filigree facade effect, and at the same time create more visual and thermal comfort in the daily life of the Konvikt.
