Commitment No. 19
Proximity matters – how our Aadorf site is reducing CO2 emissions

By expanding production in Aadorf, Griesser is pursuing a clear goal: to manufacture more sustainably, shorten transport routes, and thereby reduce CO2 emissions. Since May 2025, the Solozip® façade awning has been manufactured at this location – a significant step towards local value creation and ecological responsibility.

Short distances – measurable climate impact
Previously, Solozip® was produced exclusively in France and shipped across Europe. Today, Griesser produces where the demand is: in Switzerland and still in France. This means shorter delivery routes for all regions, fewer truck kilometres, lower CO2 emissions – and faster delivery directly to construction sites.

Facts on CO2 reduction through shorter distances:

  • Reduction of long transport routes to Switzerland.
  • Optimised logistics: flexible, regional delivery.

Sustainability from start to finish
The investment of around CHF 900,000 in Solozip® production is more than just an economic decision. It is part of a broader path toward climate neutrality:

A bold step – with tangible impact
“Switzerland is and remains important to us,” says Urs Neuhauser, CEO of the Griesser Group. This move shows that sustainability is not just lip service.

  • Ecological: fewer emissions, less energy consumption through efficient production.
  • Economic: reduced dependence on remote suppliers, faster response times, strengthened site.
  • Social: jobs in Aadorf are retained.

And we’re already thinking ahead
Our vision: complete decarbonisation by 2050 – through every investment, every production step. Short distances are more than a logistical choice – they are a proactive contribution to climate protection. With every investment in its production sites, Griesser makes a clear statement for its values and a sustainable industry that not only promises responsibility – but truly lives it.
